HOW WE WORK

Calculation methodology and editorial standards

RealCalculation provides educational estimates with explicit formulas, assumptions and limitations. Its tools are designed to help people explore scenarios rather than replace lender documents or professional advice.

How calculations are presented

We explain the principal formula for each tool and state significant assumptions such as compounding period, payment schedule, currency and excluded fees. Where applicable, a final payment is adjusted to the remaining balance. Inputs should be validated rather than silently changed to make an invalid scenario look valid.

Sources and updates

Country-specific programs require official primary sources. We link to the government or program documentation that informs relevant assumptions. When financial rules change, estimates may become outdated; users should verify current terms directly with a lender or the responsible authority.

What we do not claim

We do not represent example rates as live offers or invent professional reviewers, customer numbers or testimonials. Financial projections are conditional scenarios, not a promise of future market performance or mortgage approval.

Privacy and limitations

Most calculations run in the browser and do not require an account. Sharing a scenario may put input values into its URL, so users should avoid sharing links with sensitive financial details. See our privacy policy.
