How it works
Fahrenheit = Celsius × 9/5 + 32, Kelvin = Celsius + 273.15.
Worked calculation
22°C equals 71.6°F. For the sample inputs, the calculator displays these results:
| Converted temperature | 71.6 °F |
|---|
Assumptions and limitations
Kelvin must be nonnegative.
Results update as you change inputs. The values are calculated from the displayed inputs and assumptions, not obtained from an external measurement. Check units, rounding, and any special rules that apply to your situation.
Temperature needs an offset
Converting Celsius and Fahrenheit includes an offset as well as a scale factor. Kelvin starts at absolute zero and uses the same degree size as Celsius.
Avoid confusing temperature and difference
A change of 1°C equals a change of 1.8°F, but an absolute value of 1°C does not equal 1.8°F.
